When I started this blog, it was for motivation to try to get some type of image every day. Now, it's turned into a timeline for the last few years. I get a couple weeks behind at times, but try to keep it mostly current. Does anyone ever read this???

This is one of about two dozen white pigeons that live on a ranch near our house. They are usually cooped up, but we see them flying around from time to time. It was fun trying to get pictures of them.

The big boy again. This buck is pretty wary for being a 'backyard buck'. He has no hunting pressure, yet still is quick to leave every time I see him. I'm interested to see what his rack will look like when he is finished growing and rubs the velvet off. I think he is a 4 X 5...a main frame 3 pointer with kickers on both sides. Great looking deer...

Score! I watched this white tailed kite flying along the edge of large field. I couldn't beleive my luck when he kept flying towards me. He was nice enough to hover and pose, typical of a kite, long enough for me to snap off a dozen frames.

Again, my buddy at the corpyard. I see him just about daily w/ few exceptions. Hangs out with two other bucks, neither of which is anywhere near this dude's size. As always, he wasn't too cooperative with me and this was the best I got.

Ireland-Photo > June 27th-Took the kids to the lake again today. No mommy this time....just me and the kids. The older they get, the more fun I have with them. Both of them caught several fish today. Amazingly, both of them caught HUGE catfish! Erin's was close to 8#'s and took her about 10 minutes to reel in. It was hilarious!! She was screaming and howling! When the fish surfaced near the boat, both of them were freaking out. Five minutes later, John hooked into his own. He had a hard time with it, but was ecstatic when he saw it surface. It wasn't as big, but still a huge catfish. Erin was excited to bring it home and eat it for dinner. Another fantastic summer day on the lake.

Ireland-Photo > June 26th-Erik and I went up to his ranch today. We saw a lot of birds and a few deer. The diversity of wildlife up there is amazing. Quail, doves, blackbirds, ducks, egrets, killdeer, and herons...all using the same field.

Ireland-Photo > June 25th-Took the family to the lake today. I was blown away when I saw this dude perched in a digger pine tree. The was the first time I have ever seen a mature eagle in CA that wasn't flying. He was nice enough to sit long enough for me to take a bunch of pictures. It was a great experience.
